School’s Westlands Mural Celebrates Community Spirit

Sam Collison, February 4, 2025February 4, 2025

A new mural has been created at Westlands First School & Nursery to celebrate the Westlands estate!

Councillor David Ross, Cabinet Member for Health & Wellbeing and Councillor Richard Morris the councillor for Droitwich West were there to see the artwork installed.

The work was inspired by pupil’s thoughts around what Westlands meant to them, with visual artist Sarah Edwards speaking to every pupil at the school for their ideas and working with groups to help paint the mural.

The children’s ideas came from nature, wildlife and playing outside with friends, and all their thoughts have been brought to life in this mural to help increase pride in the local community.

The artwork was commissioned by Severn Arts and funded by Worcestershire County Council’s Public Health department.
