Wellbeing Garden Blooms at Wolverley School

Sam Collison, January 15, 2025January 15, 2025

A brand-new wellbeing garden has officially opened at a primary school in Wolverley in Kidderminster.

Wolverley Seabright Primary Academy has transformed an unused corner of the site into a relaxing play area, complete with a gazebo, picnic benches, spring flowering bulbs and landscaping.

The wellbeing space is open to children throughout the day, and parents can also access it with them. As well as providing a relaxing and peaceful area for children to develop a positive mindset, they will grow vegetables and herbs all year round, learning about healthy eating.

The garden was designed and created in partnership with local business, parents and grandparents, made possible by a small wellbeing grant from Worcestershire County Council and West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner, alongside the Seabright Foundation.

Teacher Vicki Harrison, who managed the project, said:

“The garden is a wonderful place for children who want to enjoy some relaxing time chatting and playing.

We’ve already started a colouring club which meets there.”

See what the children think of the wellbeing garden in this short video:
