Mental Health Mates Malvern | Community Stories

Olivia Toye, June 19, 2024November 4, 2024

Founded in 2016, Mental Health Mates is a nationwide network of volunteer-led peer support groups that encourage people to get walking and talking for their mental health.

The Mental Health Mates Malven group was set up in 2020 to support members of the local community to connect with others. The group has created opportunities to create friendships and grow in confidence, while enjoying time in nature.

“I saw it and wanted to get involved to improve positive talk and meet new people. We go for walks and sometimes coffees and talk. I like it because it helps to walk with someone other than my parents.” – Mental Health Mates participant

This video was created as part of the Celebrating Community Stories Project 2023 – 2024. Public Health at Worcestershire County Council worked with organisations across the County to find out what keeps Worcestershire healthy, active and creative.
