New wellbeing hub welcomes families in Evesham

Sam Collison, July 30, 2024July 30, 2024

Located in the Riverside Shopping Centre, the the new family space has opened as part of the Riverside Health and Wellbeing Hub.

The hub is run by Onside Advocacy and acts as a one-stop shop where community members can access health and wellbeing services, signposting, information and support. The hub is also an inclusive space for other organisations, such as Mind and Age UK, to bring their wide range of services under one roof.

Building work has been undertaken to develop the space further for families, including a friendly drop-in space to feed or change a baby. A welcoming and friendly ‘Stay, play and weigh’ session has started every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month from 10am-12pm, as well as Health Visitor clinics.

Lorraine New, Community Health Connector- Starting Well Partnership South Worcestershire said

“Having the new Riverside Hub has been a success so far for local families from in and around Evesham, the room is light and airy, with new toys and resources provided by a donation from Evesham Methodist Church last year.  It is so nice to see families who came to the old venue come to Riverside Hub. I always get lovely smiles from parents and babies which is great.”

Some of the parents that have attended the ‘Stay, play and weigh’ session have said “its lovely to have something in the town” and “the staff were really friendly and helpful”.

To book onto a ‘Stay, play and weigh’ session, call WANDS Family Hub on 01905 827391 or visit startingwellworcs.nhs.uk
