The Granary Community Café – Hope Church | Community Stories

Samantha Roberts, August 23, 2024August 23, 2024

The Granary Community Café – Hope Church

The Granary Community café is “a friendly community space for all who need it”, run by a group of volunteers at the Hope Church, Worcester.

The café works in partnership with a range of organisations including Emerging futures, YMCA, Cranstoun and Good Soil, to offer signposting to services and a range of activities including World Café’s, art workshops and musical sound portraits.

The café is valued by the community as a welcoming space that provides the opportunity for people to connect with others:

“I found the café via word of mouth of someone who also attends. I play pool, help with the cleaning, build friendships, I now feel part of the community family. There is nothing I don’t like, I love everything about it without the café I probably wouldn’t be here” – Community Café user

This story was created as part of the Celebrating Community Stories Project 2023 – 2024. Public Health at Worcestershire County Council worked with organisations across the County to find out what keeps Worcestershire healthy, active and creative.
