Pershore High School Promotes Active Breaktimes with Outdoor Table Tennis Tables

Pershore High School is delighted to announce the installation of new outdoor table tennis tables, made possible through funding from the Public Health Wellbeing Grant for Educational Settings, provided by Worcestershire County Council.

The tables are already proving to be a popular addition to the school grounds, with pupils enjoying the opportunity to be active during lunchtime in a fun and inclusive way. The initiative is part of the school’s wider commitment to promoting physical activity and wellbeing among students.

“We’re always looking for ways to get students moving, especially during unstructured parts of the school day,” stated Tom Barz (Head of PE) from Pershore High School. “The table tennis tables offer an engaging and accessible way for students of all abilities to be active, social, and healthy.”

As well as being used during breaks, the tables are also integrated into PE lessons — particularly for students who may need extra encouragement to participate in physical education. The informal and friendly nature of table tennis helps build confidence and positive attitudes toward exercise.

The school extends its thanks to Worcestershire County Council for the grant, which is helping to support student wellbeing in innovative and meaningful ways.
