Now We’re Talking: Mental Health Support

Amanda Berry, February 16, 2023August 22, 2023

Public Health are working with NHS colleagues to help people navigate to the right mental health and well being support more quickly and easily. Working collaboratively, we have produced posters and social media messages to help people find the right service to support their mental health and well being.

Over recent years there has been an increase in mental health provision/support options across Herefordshire and Worcestershire to help meet an increase in demand, including new NHS teams working in schools, more community services helping peoples’ recovery, and an increase in online and digital resources.

While the increase in options is positive, it requires a more co-ordinated communications and awareness approach to help people recognise what is available and how they can access it.

Local health and care organisations have recently come together as part of our Now We’re Talking campaign to create resources which we hope will help.

Where to signpost for mental health resources and support:

 For adults:

  • a recently developed website – nowweretalking.nhs.uk which provides links to lots of local services and resources for adults including community support, online programmes, Healthy Minds, and help for people experiencing a mental health crisis.

For children and young people:

  • A recently launched children’s mental health website – camhs.hacw.nhs.uk – which also includes lots of resources to support children or young people who are experiencing mental health or wellbeing challenges
