An empty building in one of Kidderminster’s old carpet factories will soon become the new home of a much-loved local charity, Simply Limitless.
A Worcestershire County Council Public Health grant is supporting Simply Limitless to refurbish the building and transform it into a community space offering vital health and wellbeing services for residents.
Simply Limitless has been delivering holistic health and wellbeing programmes for over 15 years, supporting more than 1,000 people annually, from birth to retirement, through a flexible, person-centred approach.
The new centre, located just five minutes from Kidderminster town centre, is set to open at the end of February and provide accessible, welcoming facilities for the whole community.
Members of Worcestershire County Council’s Public Health team recently visited the new site alongside Simply Limitless staff, representatives from the VCSE alliance, Wyre Forest Health Partnership, Blunts shoes and Councillor Satinder Bell, Cabinet Member with responsibility for Health and Wellbeing.

Councillor Satinder Bell said: “It was really great to see first-hand the work Simply Limitless is doing. Their holistic, family-orientated approach will take pressure off other services and provide much-needed support in the community. We are delighted to be able to support this vital much-loved local charity.”
Paul Raper, CEO of Simply Limitless added: “We are really grateful for the support we’ve received from the public health team. None of this would be possible without them. We are so excited to have the opportunity to complete the build with the people we support in mind. We don’t have to squeeze ourselves into an existing build, we can create the perfect welcoming community space that works for our residents, making us truly accessible to everyone.”
The refurbishment will allow Simply Limitless to relaunch and expand its services to reach more people.
Some of the new additions include:
- Mental health: Daily sessions, 1-1 support, targeted groups for men, women, teens parents, and carers. Staff have also received specialist training in trauma and teen mental health which will inform their approach.
- Family wellbeing: Launch of the new Families at their Best project, including a family café offering hot meals, connection, and support.
- Physical activity: A new soft play area for under-5s , expanded Mega Kids programme for ages 5–11, and accessible fitness classes such as aerobics and HIIT for those unable to attend commercial gyms. Nordic walking will continue, with trained community leaders ensuring sustainability.
- Nutrition and lifestyle: A new weight loss programme is beginning, alongside ongoing Feel Good Nutrition sessions.
- Community outreach: Work in priority neighbourhoods such as Foley Park and The Walshes, will bring physical activity sessions and family cafés directly into local community centres.
The refurbished centre will also host external groups. Facilities such as the main hall and meeting rooms will be available for hire, generating revenue and strengthening community partnerships.
