Music and move class shakes things up!

Jemma Bufton, March 5, 2025March 5, 2025

Children at Noah’s Ark Nursery in Redditch are loving their new ‘music and move’ sessions thanks to a wellbeing grant from the Worcestershire County Council Public Health Team and West Mercia Police and Crime Commissioner.

The funding has allowed the nursery to invest in a qualified music teacher to run weekly sessions and also provide training for staff and parents – making the positive physical, mental and social wellbeing improvements last and last!

Tina Davis a staff member from the nursery said: “The impact has been amazing. It’s been a fantastic opportunity for both children and staff. It’s supporting the children to build relationships and a positive sense of self. We’ve had loads of positive feedback which is brilliant. I can’t thank you enough for giving the children this opportunity.”

The music and movement sessions have been going on for just over a year and have had a huge impact on the children – improving their confidence, sense of self, relationship building and encouraging movement.
