Mama’s Market is building sustainable community

Jemma Bufton, November 20, 2025November 25, 2025

In the heart of Droitwich Spa, a local mum named Sara is making a big difference to parents and the environment.

With the help of a small public health grant for advertising and venue costs, Sara launched Mama’s Market, a monthly event where families can buy, sell, and repurpose children’s clothing and accessories.

We all know how quickly children outgrow their clothes. Sara saw an opportunity to ease the financial pressure on parents and carers whilst promoting sustainability.

By creating a space for preloved items to find new homes, Mama’s Market is helping families save money, reduce waste, and connect with one another.

Held at the community hall, chosen by Sara for its central location and welcoming atmosphere, the market has quickly become a local favourite.

“I chose the community hall as it’s in the heart of Droitwich Spa,” Sara shared. “I’d love to work alongside the baby bank and food bank in the future.”

Mama’s Market is a celebration of community spirit, resourcefulness, and care for the environment. Another great example of a small idea with a big impact.
