Over 650 people trained to support those with suicidal thoughts

Sam Collison, July 25, 2024September 6, 2024

Over 650 people are now trained to support people who are having suicidal thoughts and wear the Orange Button across Herefordshire and Worcestershire.

The Orange Button is worn by people who have relevant training in suicide prevention. They are there to listen, signpost to local support, and help reduce stigma by talking openly about suicide.

Keen to encourage others to join the scheme, Orange Button wearers, Katrina and Euan have shared their stories.

To watch Katrina and Euan’s stories in full and find out more at www.worcestershire.gov.uk/orangebuttonIf you are struggling to cope and need urgent help, call NHS 111 and select the mental health option.
